The Reverend Douglas Carter | Rector
Douglas, a native of Tampa, Florida, was graduated from Virginia Theological Seminary in 1976 whereupon he embarked upon a career of school chaplaincy and parish ministry. In those capacities he served in Tokyo, Vienna, Mississippi State University, Sarasota, Miami, Mexico City, Tampa, and Dallas. Now retired and serving as part-time rector, he continues to enjoy this international congregation representing more than fourteen countries. In this his sixth year with the parish, he lives in the rectory behind the church.

Judy Frothingham and her husband moved to Cuernavaca over five years ago. A lifelong Episcopalian, she is a member of the Vestry, the Endowment Fund, and was appointed Senior Warden in May 2022.

"Which way is the wind blowing?" is the answer you'll hear when the question of where he is from when asked. Born in Missouri, his mother was a Regional Manager for H&R Block and then his father was an geologist that often worked Superfund cleanups for the EPA. How he and his wife Angel ended up in Cuernavaca is a story many have heard and can only be told with them together (it can be told by just one, but it's not as entertaining). Since his arrival, the expat community as well as St Michael and All Angels, have been blessed with top tier technological help. I want to live in a place where snow is a foreign language and the only ice you get is in your drink.
